The Pediatric and Adolescent Psychology Department of The Center for Behavioral Medicine provides specialized evaluation, consultation and treatment of children and adolescents with psychological and behavioral problems.
Staffed by experienced doctoral-level and masters-level clinicians who specialize in adolescent and pediatric psychology, the professionals can address a variety of problems and concerns ranging from school and developmental issues to emotional difficulties and family conflict. Other areas commonly addressed include: attention deficit disorder (hyperactivity), eating and sleep disorders, chronic illness, bedwetting, school underachievement (IQ testing), self-esteem, stress, divorce, pervasive developmental disorder, autism, adoption, childhood fears, step families, death, and normal development issues such as thumb sucking, toilet training and others.
Patients may be self referred for psychological counseling and/or evaluation, as well as being referred by physicians, teachers, and guidance counselors.
